Scott Pilgrim
Scott is the owner of Diakonos Group, LLC and Senior Health Strategies. Diakonos Group is an Oklahoma owned and operated long term care provider with five Skilled Nursing Facilities, six Assisted Living Communities, one Independent Living Community and a group of five small Intermediate Care Facilities for Adults with Developmental Disabilities. These twelve facilities have annual gross revenue exceeding $40 million dollars and employ over 625 caregivers that serve over 725 residents, patients, and guests. It specializes in the turn-around and re-development of under performing facilities. Senior Health Strategies provides management, financial and clinical consulting services to over 30 outside, unaffiliated long-term care providers.
Scott is very active in state and national long-term care provider organizations and has served on many civic and charitable boards. In 2005, Diakonos Group’s innovative work was recognized when Scott was appointed by The White House to attend the White House Conference on Aging. Scott has been interviewed in the national press regarding long-term care and specifically, the care of older adults with developmental disabilities. Scott is a lifelong Oklahoman with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting from Oklahoma State University.
Bill Bush
Bill joined Senior Health Strategies as Chief Financial Officer in 2013. He has over 25 years of CPA-licensed accounting experience and served as a CFO in the healthcare industry for over 12 years prior to joining SHS. He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Phillips University and holds an LTC Administrator license.
Bill’s knowledge and experience make him uniquely qualified to manage and oversee accounting, cash management, billing, HR, and business office operations in healthcare facilities of all sizes.
Kimberly D. Green-Yates
Kimberly D. Green-Yates is the Chief Operating Officer for Diakonos Group, LLC, which operates skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities, independent and assisted living facilities, group homes for individuals with intellectual disabilities and also operates the consulting division Senior Health Strategies. Kimberly has an extensive background in the industry with 28 years of varied experience.
Kimberly is a medical speech language pathologist by background and has a Bachelor’s of Science and a Master’s of Education in medical speech language pathology both from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. She has traveled the country and worked for some of the nation’s oldest and largest companies and has also owned and operated her own consulting company. She has diverse experience from almost every aspect of the industry from provider to contractor and nurse assistant to COO. She was able to participate in the pilot project for PPS and grew that knowledge over the years to become a recognized Medicare and reimbursement specialist that has provided consulting coast to coast. She is also a nationally recognized speaker on various topics such as Medicare, Rehabilitation, restorative nursing, and dementia management.
Kimberly has written a restorative training program and manual currently implemented by three state associations. She traveled to Haiti on medical missions and trained physicians, nurses and other health care workers on restorative nursing care for the elderly in their country. Kimberly is a member of the clinical quality committee with the American Healthcare Association and is also a member of the Future Leaders class 2014-2015 with the American Healthcare Association.
Tiffanie Riggs
Tiffanie Riggs joined Senior Health Strategies in 2013 as our Chief Nursing Officer. With more than 20 years of clinical nursing experience, her professional career in healthcare has included staffing, teaching, consulting and administrative positions. Her belief in continuous improvement for herself and our organization makes her an excellent fit for the senior management team.
Tiffanie obtained her RN from Dodge City Community College in Kansas and immediately accepted responsibility as a Charge Nurse in a long-term care facility. She went on to obtain her BSN from the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing, where she is currently working on an MSN with a focus on Nursing Administration. In addition to holding Oklahoma and Texas Nursing licenses, she is also RAC certified.
Tiffanie’s passion for geriatric nursing and her strong support of education for patients, families and colleagues have been consistent elements throughout her career. She is always approachable and eager to serve as a resource for staff. Her ability to develop and implement clear, measurable objectives, policies and procedures has also been invaluable in her work as a nurse and healthcare leader.
In her spare time, Tiffanie uses her nursing skills to help in the community. For the past 11 years, she has been a volunteer at the Day Center for the Homeless in Tulsa, and she also serves as a member of the Volunteer Nurses Association.
Terri Rowe
With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, Terri Rowe joined SHS as a Quality Assurance Nurse/Long Term Care Administrator in 2013. Her primary task involves evaluating the work processes of all departments to ensure qualitative requirements are being met.
Terri became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1985 and earned a License for Nursing Home Administrator in 1994 (Oklahoma). She was selected as Nursing Home Administrator of the Year by the Oklahoma Association of Health Care Providers.
John Harrison
In 2013, John joined Senior Health Strategies as a dietary manager for senior living facilities. With over 20 years of experience in food service and dietary management, his roles have included positions as an executive chef and a restaurant and catering manager.
John earned his BS in management from Southern Nazarene University. He also has a degree in business administration from Tulsa Community College and a CDM from Tulsa Technology Center.
John has been consistently recognized for his leadership in the food service industry, including being chosen as a Silver Spoon contestant in 2014.
Angela Matthews
Angela Matthews is our Director of Business Office Operations. She has been part of the Senior Health Strategies team since 2013. With over 15 years of experience and knowledge, she is essential for our team and our clients.
She advises in several areas of healthcare: accounts payable, billing, insurance, managed care, medicaid, medicare, office managing, office policies/procedures, payroll, resident trust, time management, workman’s comp, managed care contracting, and insurance credentialing.
Her certifications include Medicare Billing in a Skilled Nursing Facility by Reingruber & Company, MDS 3.0-RUGS IV Training Program by Oklahoma Association of Health Care Providers and OSHA Recordkeeping Requirements Webinar by Bouchard Insurance.
Angela started her healthcare career as a Business Office Manager of a 114-bed Medicaid Facility. This is where she developed her passion for healthcare. In another previous position Angela was the District Accountant at Peak Medical Group. She spent over 10 years with Peak Medical Group, which is also known as Phoenix Healthcare. Angela was promoted to District Accountant after having the lowest DSO and cleanest aging. In that position she managed 13 business office managers. This makes her uniquely qualified to be the Director of Business Office Operations at Senior Health Strategies.
Kathy Cryer
Kathy Cryer currently hold the position of Accounts Receivable Manager for Diakonos Group. She has 23 years accounting and management experience. Kathy has been with Diakonos Group since 2009. She has contributed within all facilities the development, implementation and training, in conjunction with procedure manuals currently utilized. She has industry experience in accounts payable, payroll & training of business office managers. Kathy has developed, streamlined and is an expert in Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care and Private Insurance billing.
Carla Rappe
Carla joined Senior Health Strategies in 2016 as an RN Consultant, where her primary role as an RN consultant is to provide oversite of the nursing process and assuring facilities are in compliance with state regulations and standards of practice. Carla has worked with the geriatric population for the last 20 years in which her first experience was taking care of people afflicted with Alzheimer and Dementia. Graduating from Bacone College in 2007, Carla went into an administration position acting as Director of Nurses for a company providing care for people on the Oklahoma’s Advantage program. After being in administration for 3 years, and gaining valuable leadership skills, Carla went on to further her career by gaining experience in Hospice, Home Health, Skilled nursing, and Critical Care. She was recently appointed to the OKALA Board (Oklahoma Assisted Living Association).
Carla has a passion for educating and assisting new nurses in transitioning into the nursing realm, mentoring them on using good critical thinking skills, encouraging them to be compassionate and empathic towards the people they are caring for and operating in a safe manner. Teaching them to never take for granted the honor that has been bestowed upon them in caring for the people entrusted to our care. She brings this experience and attitude into the facilities she consults at. Carla enjoys being a part of a team that looks at the overall picture and one that can learn from mistakes. She prides herself on being approachable and knowledgeable in the nursing process. She is always willing to help and she tries to set a positive example for her family, her nursing profession and her community.
Tammy Spears
Tammy Spears joined Diakonos Group in 2016 as our Medicare Consultant Nurse. Tammy has more than 30 years of clinical nursing experience and 18 years of MDS/PPS experience. Tammy’s professional career in healthcare and her belief in continuous improvement make Tammy a perfect fit to educate our team on the MDS/PPS process and industry regulations.
Tammy obtained her LPN from Tulsa Technology Center and became board certified in 1986 with the Oklahoma Board of Nursing. Tammy is currently enrolled in a RN program at Tulsa Community College and is to graduate in May of 2017. Tammy has certification from AANAC for completing Medicare University and has been RAC-CT from AANAC since 2009.
Tammy’s passion for geriatric nursing is remarkable. She is a compassionate caring nurse that desires to help raise the standards of care for the geriatric population. Tammy’s vast knowledge of Medicare regulations and her desire to help others makes her the perfect fit for Diakonos Group.
